Women's empowerment kenya
Back in 2019 I had the opportunity to go on a service trip in Kenya and meet an amazing woman named Agnes (the one in the yellow shirt) as well as many others. Agnes runs this women's center and a children's school across the road with the biggest heart and passion to provide better futures for her community. At FIU, I was able to continue working with her by selling the jewelry in the United States that the women in Kenya make while learning new skills in the women's center. In total, I was able to reinvest nearly $500 to the women's center for their hard work.
Women's Empowerment india
Through FIU's International Business Honor Society (IBHS), I was able to take on a similar project as the one in Kenya. While I was not able to travel to India due to the Covid-19 lockdown, I did get to meet some of these women over Zoom which was an amazing experience. Just outside of Dehli, in Bandhwari India, there is the women's center where these women make bags, masks, jewelry, and more that we sell back here at FIU and other local markets. I had the role of IT and sales director as well as modeling the products to post on the Bandhwari Project's Instagram and online shop. During my time as sales director, IBHS sold over $1500 in products to reinvest back into the Bandwhari Women's Empowerment Project.
case study on l'oreal and mines in india
During my final year at FIU, I preformed research and wrote a case study on L'Oreal's use of the ingredient called mica. It analyzes the message the company sends to its consumers about the mica mining process in India as well as multiple investigations that have been preformed on its global supply chain. It has a particular focus on illegal women and child labor.

Additionally, I had the opportunity to present my case study in a competition during FIU's 2022 College of Business Dean's Week. Pictured here are me with the winning team of the competition.
Equity in miami
During my time as a part of the FIU Global Learning Board, we worked on a project called "Equity in Miami" for the 10 Days of Connection Movement. We scripted and created a video series to present to middle schoolers about the issues of inequity within Miami and the whole world. The topics we focused on were education, health, and housing. We also had the opportunity to present our project in an FIU panel that focused on racial equity.
