I grew up in a town called Bethlehem in Pennsylvania. While my Mum is from England and we took trips there about every other year, I never really got to see the world until I was 18. I got to travel around Western Europe, Fiji, and Kenya. Yet, I still have so much to learn and so much to see.

Ever since my out-of-state tour for FIU in 2019, I felt like this was the university for me. Compared to Pennsylvania, Miami can feel like an entirely different country and I knew it was the perfect opportunity to continue to get out of my comfort zone to learn and grow. Moving here by myself was so exciting and I was eager to get involved. During my first semester, I singed up for the Peace Corps Prep and Global Medallion Programs at the Global Learning Office. This was where I really got to build my knowledge and skills pertaining to global learning. I attended language fairs, Tuesday Times Roundtables, panels, and met so many students from around the world.

Since freshman year, I got involved in the International Business Honor Society, Global Learning Student Board, Dean's Student Advisory Board, and became a leader at my church, United Wesley. Looking back on my time here, I am so grateful for all the experiences FIU provided me with. I got to attend a school where my closest friends are from Kazakhstan, Haiti, Brazil, Bolivia, Cuba, Venezuela, Puerto Rice, and more. I know this would not have been an opportunity for me if I attended a university elsewhere. Through my courses, involvements, and the relationships I've built at FIU, I feel confident that I am ready to make a positive impact in the world. While I am sad to go, I am even more excited to continue my life journey.
